Giving back through life-changing experiences.
Our amazing team of Jen's family and friends volunteer their time and effort to this cause as we are all committed to helping others in Jen's name. We take our convictions and turn them into action just as Jen did throughout her life.

Throughout her life, Jennifer “Jeni” Doherty was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest, yet always found time and energy to give of herself to others. She would not waste an opportunity to speak to anyone she met and engage them in conversation about herself and her passions in her life. She was an accomplished and passionate educator who took pride in working in an inner-city public school district and who always found ways to connect with her students. Jen was also a committed and loyal member of her teachers’ union and its executive committee where she selflessly gave up a lot of her free time to help and advocate for her fellow teachers and staff. After a devastating burn injury in 2012, which had her hospitalized for several weeks, Jen became a peer support volunteer who helped other burn survivors with their recovery and adjustment to life after burns. In honor of all of Jen’s accomplishments, her hard work, her spirit and all the adversity that she overcame throughout her life and all that she unselfishly gave of herself to so many, we aim to continue her good deeds through The Jeni Fund.
Our focus in our efforts shall be on providing scholarships and other financial support to burn survivors, Paterson Public Schools students, the Academy of the Holy Angels as well as supporting first responders on Long Beach Island and throughout Bergen County,

The Jeni Fund Expands Its Impact--Feeding More Families!
Food insecurity continues to be a major challenge, especially during these tough economic times. That’s why The Jeni Fund remains committed to supporting our neighbors in need. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible supporters—and the selfless dedication of the amazing Suha Obediallah—we are proud to share that we’ve now provided food packages to 25 more families!
Each family received a comprehensive package filled with essentials: 10 lbs of rice, 10 lbs of flour, 10 lbs of sugar, 1 gallon of vegetable oil, 1 bottle of Palestinian olive oil, 2 lbs of noodles, 1 lb of lentils, 1 bag of tea, dates, and 3 to 5 whole chickens (based on family size). A special thank you to Brothers Produce NJ for donating the dates.
This is what community looks like—coming together to fight food insecurity, one family at a time. Let’s keep making a difference!
We hope to make this an ongoing project for the Jeni Fund, thus your contributions are always welcomed,
